Mast Off Season Open Call
Open to studio holders, fellows, students and alumni: show at Mast during Off Season 2027.
Off Season is Margate’s free, DIY, open-to-all art festival, running Friday 29 to Sunday 31 January 2027. It turns shop windows, cafés, bars and homes across the town into exhibition spaces for one midwinter weekend; last year it listed 150 exhibitions and over 300 artists.
Mast is offering four spaces in the building to its community for the festival weekend: the Gallery, the Café, the Auditorium and the ground-floor co-working space. You can propose a solo show or a group show with others from the Mast community. Priority will be given to current studio holders, fellows and students, but alumni are very welcome to apply. We’ll allocate the spaces on the strength of the proposals and the fit between work and space, and Mast will cover the Off Season listing fee and take care of the registration and promotion.
Off Season asks that every show is invigilated by its participants, so please tell us in the form how much of the weekend you can cover. We suggest teaming up so you also get to see the festival.

The details
When: Friday 29 January (from midday) to Sunday 31 January 2027. Install from Monday 25 January, de-install by Monday 1 February.
Where: Mast, 31–33 High Street, Margate — Gallery, Café, Auditorium or the ground-floor co-working space.
Deadline to apply: Wednesday 11 November 2026, 5pm.
Who can apply: Mast studio holders, fellows, students and alumni, solo or in groups. Priority will be given to current studio holders, fellows and students.
Cost: none — Mast covers the Off Season listing fee.
What happens next: we’ll confirm allocations by Tuseday 17 November and register Mast with Off Season before their 18 November deadline.
